Trail of Painted Ponies retires their horses six at a time which makes all of their retired ponies highly collectible and in some cases, valuable, because they are considered a Limited Edition.  This particular horse was retired on July 2007 and the mold for this horse was destroyed so no further copies can be made. If you do find a Retired pony you like, you may want to purchase it now before the price goes up again or it's not available on the secondary market.
